Laundry, Eduardo Parque and Ferry: Day 5
Hot weather arrived! We had a slow morning that included laundry and resting.
We went to Eduardo VII Parque in the center of Lisboa and visited the Estufa Fria, a shaded tropical greenhouse in the corner of the park. The greenhouse, sheltered from the sun, was cooler than the summer temperatures outside. For lunch, we went to Gulden Draak, a craft beer restaurant in Picoas.
We changed to a hot weather plan to find a breeze: We took the ferry across the Rio Tejo to Cacilhas and looked around the village, enjoying the river breezes.
Back in the city, we headed to Belem to have pizza at EsteOeste, a nice restaurant in the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB). Before dinner, we sat around in their lobby bar for a while, enjoying the comfortable chairs and pleased that no one came to take a drink order.
That evening we went to the nearby Navy Planetarium to see a Brazilian singer performing with planetarium visuals. We had expected more of a jazz singer, but it was enjoyable music.
