Ingredients
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, pressed or minced, optional
- 2 or 3 inches of chorizo de frango, diced or quartered lengthwise and sliced
- 1 jar pinto (manteiga) beans, rinsed and drained
Directions
- In large frying pan, fry onion and option garlic.
- Add meat and heat up to mix flavors.
- Add beans and heat them up with the other ingredients.
- Use a potato masher to crush the beans.
I don’t mash all the beans smooth. I just want to the beans to stick together, like lumpy mashed potatoes. You could blend it smooth with a stick blender if you want, although the chunks of meat might thwart a smooth texture.
